Ok, so I slack on the weekends
I should have clarified that I'll blog daily DURING THE WEEK :)

Registry!
Alan and I went to Macy's in Valley Fair to register for more stuff. Since we're already planning some of our showers, we need to put stuff on there. I love going around with that little scanner and picking out stuff! I went to Bed Bath and Beyond on Sunday, but didn't want to register for anything without Alan. But boy was I tempted to...

Matchstick Men
One of those movies that has an unexpected twist at the end... I thought it was pretty good! Also rented The Italian Job which was a great heist movie. Plus Mark Wahlberg is hot! ;)

VMAs vs. The Olympics
Kept switching back and forth from the closing ceremonies of the Olympics and the MTV Video Music Awards. It was cool seeing all the stars arriving on these huge yachts. J Lo didn't look pregnant, but I guess she is with Marc Anthony now. I liked Christina Aguilera's performance with Nelly the best. But then again, I missed the last half hour since I fell asleep on the couch. Anything good happen in those last 30 minutes?

Harold and Kumar...
Last night Alan and I went to the movies and saw Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. I got free passes on the Alice 97.3 catalog, so we went to Union Landing to see it and I have to admit... it was pretty funny. I didn't know if I would like it, since I heard it was kinda stupid, but it was actually funny. My favorite scene was when they took that bully's car and starting singing along with the tapes inside :) Anyone else seen this movie?

I love Alice 97.3!
I got new movie passes today on the catalog for Collateral and also a free CD, just by racking up points on the website. I better use them soon, since I think only 10% carry over to next year. BTW, congrats to the morning show host No Name who is going to have a baby! Check out the sonogram pics on the morning show website!

TGIF!
It's almost quitting-time here, and TGIF! Lots to do this weekend.

Giddy up
I've seen two movies recently about horses and racing - Seabiscuit with Toby Maguire and Hidalgo with Viggo Mortensen. Both were good movies... Horses could be really good friends if you spend enough time with them I guess.

Wedding reception room
Alan and I have an appointment at the Westin Santa Clara hotel this Saturday. There's a wedding going on, and we're gonna go check out how it looks all set up, so we get an idea of how our's will look like. The lady in charge is really nice and is gonna let us in at around 5:30 while the guests are still in the foyer for cocktails. I'm excited to see how it looks!

Short blogs
I'm gonna try to do daily blogs.... even though they'll probably be short. It's ok though, I like reading new short daily blogs, since I check everyone's blog at least once a day. I know you guys do it too!

Gifts from overseas
I haven't blogged about this yet?? I guess I'm majorly slacking then. Lots of good stuff from the PI - like the bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses, ring/coin pillows, veil, shoes, necklaces, and all the favors! Thanks Ma & H!!

Also, my mom bought me these sweater/shirts that I love from over there. My aunt gave me one a couple years back and I love wearing it, so my mom said she bought all of the ones that the vendor had... about a dozen!! :) hehe.

Angel Island
On Saturday, Alan and I went on a trip to Angel with my group from work. Our group is only 3 people, but another group that we work with also went. We took the ferry from Alameda, switched boats in SF, then went the island. Nice place, I've never been there before. We had lunch and then took the tram tour up the island. There were some gorgeous 360 views of the bay area up there :) It was fun hanging out with co-workers outside of work.

We have somewhere to sit and eat now!
Our couch set was delivered on Saturday and our dining set on Sunday! The house is starting to look like a real home now ;)

Josh Groban!!!
We went to the Josh Groban concert last night at the Shoreline and he was awesome!! He has such a great voice, and he even played the piano and drums for some of the songs too! I like the parts where the artist just talks to the audience and jokes around with them... It makes them seem like real down-to-earth people.

The opening was another young musician named William Joseph who played the piano. He was awesome too... I listened to all his songs online today. Maybe I should support this up-and-coming artist by actually buying his CD?

One more day!
.... until my family comes back from the Philippines and I get to see all the stuff they bought me! hehe. Stuff for the wedding and other stuff for me, like clothes and eyeglasses, and shoes!

Dinner, anyone?
We finally picked out our dining room set: a round glass-top table, complete with 8 chairs, china cabinet, and serving table. We also threw in one of those leather coffee table/ottomans for our family room! Alan, once again, bargained with the salesperson for a pretty reasonable price for all of it. Good job :)

All our furniture is getting delivered on Saturday, including our couch set which we bought before! I can't wait to get them, so we can invite people over!

Wedding update
Things are moving quite nicely in terms of wedding vendors... we booked our florist, photographer, and videographer all within the past two weeks! Now we're looking for invitations, a DJ, and designing our favors...

Quiet at work
It seems so quiet at work nowadays. Plus the sun doesn't shine through my window anymore since they put a tarp over it since they're working on the outside of the building... Let me outta here! I need to see the sun :)

Park & Call
What a great idea at the Oakland airport! They set aside a couple of parking spots (about 25) so people can 'park and call' the person they're picking up if they're not at the curb yet. I used it on Thursday when I picked up Kitchie from the airport. I passed it once, and circled around, then decided to try it. It says there's a 30 minute limit and you must stay with the car which works fine. It's better than circling around and around, or worse yet parking outside the airport area.

Albatross
We met up with Eileen, Jane and Oscar at this pub called Albatross in Berkeley on Saturday night. Cool place, with a live band and lots of fun board games you can borrow to play at the tables and darts too. We just borrowed a deck of cards and played 'Bullshit' all night as we got drunk. It was pretty funny, since no one actually won because everyone caught each other bullshitting one time or another. Good times. Seems like the crew is moving our separate ways, moving to different places, so it's always good to get together.

Couch!
We finally bought our couch set - a sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman! Can't wait for it to be delivered next weekend. Now we don't have to sit on our folding chairs or on the floor in the family room to watch TV (actually... not TV, but DVDs, since we don't have cable). =)

Awoken by the pounding of a garbage truck
I woke up this morning because I heard the sound of the garbage truck in front of my house. I totally forgot to bring out the garbage can this morning, and it was too late when I got up. Well, I didn't really forget... I was gonna get up early to bring it out, since they usually don't pick up until after I leave for work. But this week they were really early. Darn. Oh well. Not too much trash this week anyway.

Wedding Updates
Photography/Videography/Florist:
I've spent all week trying to find a good, but affordable photographer. I've emailed about 20 different people and there are some prospects. I hope we find one soon! At least we already have a videographer, and I'm going to call the florist we met with and confirm with her today.

Invitations:
I went to look at some invitations last night and there were a few that I liked. Kinda want something different than normal, but not too expensive. Custom-made would be nice, if they were less expensive. We're on a budget here!

Details:
I'm starting to think about the details - like floral arrangements, place cards, favors, music during dinner, first dance song, music during dancing, music during the mass, readings during the mass, programs, decorating the church, decorating the reception, how I want my hair, the honeymoon plans, when the bridal shower(s) should be, when the bachelorette party should be, etc etc etc. I guess there's a lot to think about... We went to our friends' wedding this past Saturday, and I was observing all the details. I think that's how I started thinking about everything.

My life is slowly being consumed by wedding planning, but it's fun! I'm going to pick up my dress next weekend with Kitchie! yay :)
