Congratulations Graduate!
We took a trip to San Diego to watch my lil sister Heidi graduate from UCSD! We rented a house in San Diego which was pretty nice, and pet-friendly (since we brought Chowtz, the pug, along). We went to her Pilipino Graduation on Friday and then the official UCSD grad on Sunday. Here's a pic of all of us with Jeremy's family too!
We also celebrated Father's Day in San Diego. After H's graduation we went to East Buffet Restaurant and had lunch with a whole bunch of Heidi's friends. The food was good and there was lots of it! :)

That was the last airplane trip that we'll be taking before Baby comes!

Pregnancy talk!
On Monday, since I was in Daly City to pick up Alan's car, I decided to visit Bev who's really close to giving birth! I'm glad I got to see her before she has her baby. We got to talk a lot about pregnancy and baby stuff, I saw her nursery (cute! we need to get a move on our's!), and I saw her pregnancy pics that Gary took! I'm sure we'll have lots of playdates since our kids will be very close in age :) It's fun hanging out with other moms, especially first-time moms.

First Day of Summer!
Summer is officially here! It's the first day of summer and perfect weather. Oh, I got my Jamba today! And it's Rowena's birthday today! Happy Birthday Ro!!

Passed my test!
Had a doctor's appointment on Monday and she told me that I passed my glucose screening test! Yippee. I'm so glad that I passed - so I don't have to restrict my diet (too much, anyway) and eat normally.

Shopping for Baby
I love doing registries - it's like shopping without spending money! :) I think I went a little overboard picking out all the 'cute' stuff that I saw, but maybe I'll try to fix it online later. Funny thing that right after we registered I immediately went home to add/delete some more stuff :)

Late Pregnancy class & free massage
We went to our Late Pregnancy class on Saturday morning and I got a free massage :) One of the pregnant ladies in our class was a massage therapist and she was our partner during the icebreaker, so when she needed a volunteer to show different massage techniques, she picked me! :) We learned a lot about about the labor process - like where to go, when to call to come in, the different stages, contractions, and pain relief options! I'm sure we'll learn a lot more in our Childbirth Prep class that starts in two weeks too.

Clubbing with Baby
Went to Rex & Jane's birthday celebration in the City on Saturday night. Yummy tapas at Ramblas and then hanging out/dancing at Duplex. Had fun taking pineapple juice shots while the others took pineapple kamikaze shots! And had fun dancing with friends. Baby experienced his/her first freak train that night :)

Peanut Butter dog
Just had my afternoon snack. My coworker made us wheat toast with peanut butter from Trader Joe's and I cut up some strawberries and I had it with milk. The peanut butter was good and very healthy - nothing added besides the peanuts. (I should go to TJ's and get some). Anyway, it was really thick that I felt like that dog on the milk commercial who eats some peanut butter and keeps licking its lips because it's so sticky. Good thing I had milk to go along with it - and it worked! :)

Glucose Screen
Yesterday I went to take the initial 1 hour glucose screen for gestational diabetes. I just had to drink this small bottle of a liquid that tasted exactly like orange soda. (It's good I actually like orange soda!) Then I had to go back an hour later and have my blood drawn. Hopefully the results come in by next Monday when I have my next doctor's appointment so she can tell me whether or not I passed. I hope I pass! Wish me luck.

Strong kicks!
Baby has been kicking me really strongly recently, so much so that it doesn't seem like small bubbles anymore, but swift, sudden movements from the inside. It doesn't hurt or anything, but everytime it happens I just stop and watch my stomach as it moves. It's pretty freaky sometimes, but cool at the same time! I wonder if Baby is in the head-down position yet, or if s/he is trying to get there.

Our last big trip before Baby
We just got back from our nation's capital, Washington DC, on Sunday night. We were there for four days, seeing all the famous landmarks and taking tons of pictures. We got in on Thursday morning after taking the red eye from SFO, took the DC Metro (which is so convenient, not to mention clean and cheap!) to our hotel, checked in early, and got ready for our first day. We actually did a lot on the first day, walking to Old Post Office Pavilion for lunch in the food court, going up to the top of the tower (2nd best view in DC, next to the Washington Monument), and then walking along The Mall to see the Washington Monument, the WWII Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Korean War Veterans Memorial. The first day was pretty tiring already, doing all that walking and then walking back to the Metro, which was quite far from where we ended up. Since we got home late, we just decided to eat dinner in Chinatown since it was nearby our hotel.

Funny story - so we ordered wonton soup, chicken fried rice, and beef with green beans, and the waitress kinda snickered and said "That's all?" So she brought out the soup, and then brought out the beef dish with white rice. So we were waiting, waiting waiting for our fried rice, which never came! Hmm.... so she brought the check and we checked it and it didn't have the fried rice! Maybe THAT's why she was laughing at us. haha. I guess she didn't hear Alan order the fried rice.

Duck Tour and Tapas
We slept in the next day and didn't get out until around noon! We took the Metro to Union Station where we ate at the food court, then went on the DC Duck Tour to take a tour of the city, while resting our feet :) We passed all the monuments and then went into the Potomac River as our land vehicle turned into a boat. Back to our hotel to get ready for dinner, at this tapas place one block from our hotel that I read lots of rave reviews about. It was called Jaleo and before we left home I made a reservation but forgot that I made it for Thursday instead of Friday! But it worked out that we didn't need reservations since we went to eat late (~9:30pm) and there wasn't much of a line. We had mussels, patatas bravas, mushrooms, green beans with ham, and the oxtail dish. Not as good as Cha Cha Cha in the city, but it was good nonetheless!

A full day!
Saturday we were determined NOT to waste half the day sleeping, so we left by 10am and took the Metro to Arlington Cemetery where we took the tour and saw the eternal flame at JFK's gravesite, saw the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns Monument, and the Arlington House, where Robert E. Lee used to live.

Then back into the city where we had lunch at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum and then walked over to the Jefferson Memorial (which is one of the sites that I hadn't been before!) Took lots of pics and then headed over to Union Station again to catch the Tourmobile Twilight Tour which started at 7pm and ran til around 10:30pm. We got to see the sites at night, which was pretty cool because they were all illuminated. Alan got to take lots of night shots, which is the main reason why we wanted to go. One of the sites was the relatively new Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial which was actually my favorite! There was lots of waterfalls and it was just very peaceful and calm and visitor-friendly.

Rain on the last day
Good thing it only rained on our last day there - the first three days were very sunny, and even though it was hot (90s), we got to tour the city! Sunday it rained, so we slept in, checked-out, and then went to church at St. Patrick Church. We grabbed lunch at the Ronald Reagan & International Trade Center Building food court (which was a really nice building, by the way). Then we walked over to take pics in front of the White House. It was raining steadily so we couldn't get too many great shots especially since we were trying to hold umbrellas while taking pics of ourselves. Oh well, at least we got to see it.

Back to our hotel to get our luggage and then off to the airport to catch our flight, which surprisingly because of the weather, was on time!

I'll post more pics later!
