Tennis anyone?
On Wednesday night, Alan and I finally took advantage of the fact that we have brand new tennis courts in our development, so we went to go play. We played until it got relatively dark (since there are no lights) and it was fun! Alan was on his high school team and I played a little in grade school/high school and we had some good rallies going. I think we're going to try to make it a weekly thing.

Softball starting up again
Yesterday our company team had softball practice for the new Fall Season starting next week. I think I'm doing pretty well at playing infield and my batting is getting a little better. Now that I know that you should have your knuckles lined up when you bat, it makes hitting a lot easier! Plus I'm trying to keep my eyes open when I bat ;)

Weekend
We're both going to bachelor/bachelorette parties for our friends who are getting married in September. Dinner and party vans stopping at different clubs! I hope we don't run into the guys' party! Sunday, I think the fam is coming over to go swimming at our community pool! Can't wait to see baby Aaron swim! Plus, I think it's going to be good weather all weekend! YAY!

Better
The week has gotten a bit better, now that I know what I have to do. I control my own destiny. :)

Shower and Party
Saturday we went to George & Nina's baby shower in Saratoga. It was so hot that day - 107 degrees! I helped plan the shower games and Alan, of course, took tons of pictures. I love seeing all the gifts for the baby because they're just so cute and tiny! Can't wait to meet the little baby girl.

Afterwards, we went to Aud's friend's graduation party at Westlake Doelger Hall. Auds was the MC, so it was fun watching her up in front of everyone on the mic. Got to hang out with baby Aaron for a while - and it got me to realize that having a baby is a LOT of work. I like holding him when he's quiet and happy, but once he gets fussy and starts crying, I can't help but just hand him over to someone else. Maybe someone's trying to tell me something...

FEELING old?
That night was the first time that I actually felt old. I got up to dance with Auds and her friends (who are only four years younger than us), but I just felt older. Actually, just OLD.

Wicked
The book is picking up quickly and it's interesting to read about the history of the witches of Oz, pre-Dorothy. Plus the songs from the musical soundtrack are making a lot more sense to me now.

Already a bad week. I can feel it. :(

Smart Start
The best healthy cereal I've had. I just had a bagful... With a hint of sweetness and 100% daily value of all these vitamins! Check it out:
Iron, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid (Very very important for women like me who are thinking of having kids!), Vitamin B12, Pantothenate, Zinc

I'm glad I picked this one up from the grocery store after looking through all the suggested cereals with 100% folic acid!

Go get your Smart Start today!
Memoirs of a Geisha
I just got finished reading this book and it's great! I love how it ended. I knew it all along! (hehe, ok maybe I didn't)... I can't wait for the movie to come out this December! If I ever go to Japan, I want to meet a real geisha.

Wicked
My next book is Wicked by Gregory Maguire. I want to read it before we go see the musical in September when Kitchie and Jerry are here!

My Reading List:
Wicked
The Curious Incident of A Dog in the Night-Time
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The Time Traveler's Wife
The Da Vinci Code (before the movie comes out next year!)

I'm quite the reader now! Any other suggestions?

Weekend recap
Friday night bought all the stuff for GYGO like food and games stuff. Saturday prepared the food and then went to an engagement party in Fremont and then Alan's uncle's Golden Birthday party at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame. A big family reunion where most of Alan's dad's relatives were there. Lots of dancing and performances including this rock number by their daughter. At the end of the night, they gave out different prizes like "Youngest Grandfather" (which was Alan's dad), "Youngest Guest" (which was baby Aaron!), and we even got one since we were one of 2 newlywed couples. A way of welcoming us into the family - and we got a $50 Macy's gift card!! :)

GYGO6
Another successful barbecue. Lots of food, including Alan's ribs, rosemary chicken, and bbq chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, Chinese chicken salad, Popeye's, watermelon, fruit salad, chips and mango salsa, and lots lots more. Played classic games like the scavenger hunt, waterballoon toss, and waterballoon volleyball, as well as some new ones like Ride the Bus, Steal the Clothespins, and the ball relay game. This year's team names: Big Red Period, SPF Orange, Yellow Submarine, We're Money, Blue Balls, and Tyler's Purple People Eaters. Congrats toBig Red Period for pulling out another win and winning the Nalgene bottles!

Why am I nervous?
I'm about to take a big step and I'm feeling a little nervous. Hopefully it turns out ok :)
Up Close and Personal with the Giants!
On Friday Alan and I went to the Giants game at SBC Park and had front row seats. We were right in front of the pitcher's mound, so every time someone was warming up, we were so close! Both Alan and I both had our chance at getting real major league baseballs, but we both missed the opportunity! So close! Both times, the kid right next to Alan got them! I was about to throw a tantrum when he got the second one, but I didn't want to cause a scene. :)

Congrats Joanne & Sonny!
Went to a wedding on Saturday and saw some old classmates from Saint Anne's (my grammar school) and SI (my high school)! It was fun seeing people after all this time and seeing where they ended up and what they're doing. The wedding was at the beautiful (and huge) Saint Mary's Cathedral in SF and then the reception at the SF Marriott right near the Metreon. Got a little bit tipsy off 3 glasses of red wine during the cocktail hour, but it was fun! Had the parmesan-crusted halibut (yummm) and danced the night away :)

Swimming
Went over to the Abar's in Union City for lunch and played Vietnamese deuces with Auds and Ben. Then we decided to go swimming back at our place, so we changed and hopped in the pool. Only after about 20 minutes in the pool did Alan notice that his cell phone was in his pocket!!! He tried to dry it out, but it still didn't work after a couple hours. So don't try calling him, since he doesn't have a phone anymore - until we can go to the Cingular store and get a new one... Anyone have any suggestions on good phones out there right now??

Away from the Ringing
Not a good weekend for us with phones, I guess, since I left mine at work on Friday night. But it was actually nice to not have a cell phone for a while. I told my fam to call Alan's instead, but with the whole pool incident we were both out of cell phones by Sunday night.

DDR
I finally found the plug converter for our Playstation, so Alan and I finally got around to playing Dance Dance Revolution. I forgot how FUN it could be! But also very tiring. I must say it was quite a workout when we got up to the high level songs. But we did get our exercise for the day. I think we should do it everyday to keep our hearts going!

Chinese Chicken Salad
Alan and I made chinese chicken salad last night, using a recipe that Diana gave us for the dressing, and it was yummmmy! Complete with fried wonton strips, mandarin oranges, and shredded rotisserie chicken from Costco! I even took the dressing, chicken, and wonton to work and used the free lettuce that they have upstairs to make another salad. Want the recipe? Email me! :) It's top secret! haha. Guess what kind of salad Alan and Olivia will be having at all their parties now...

Play ball!
I can't wait for the Giants game today. Look out for us on TV when they show the pitcher's mound on the Giants side. Alan made me tell him where our seats are (even though I wanted it to be a surprise!) His reasoning was to tell him so that he can be excited too! 3rd base side, 1st row of the Lower Box Section 128, right in front of the pitcher's mound! I hope we get there in time to watch Jason Schmidt warming up. We're bringing our gloves, just in case a foul ball comes our way! I better pay attention or else something might hit me ;) I wonder if the players will be distracted by Alan's huge camera.... :)

Half a year
Happy 6 month anniversary to my bubba. We've been married 6 months today! (which is why I got the awesome tickets!) Half a year has passed by so quickly...

The weekend
We're going to one of Alan's high school friend's wedding this weekend in SF. Other than that, nothing else planned! Have a good one!

Don't do it!
Just read about someone getting caught and arrested for stealing a wireless signal by sitting outside of someone's house! I know we all do it sometime - but now we know it's illegal! So don't do it! :)

London Attacked
Let's pray for the safety of our nation and others from more terrorist attacks.

Kennewick Man
Just read another story about the Kennewick Man, a 9300 year old skeleton which is one of the oldest and most complete found on our continent. It caught my eye because it was found in Kennewick near the Columbia River, which is near where my dad lives in Richland, Washington!

Album!
We finally got our wedding album and it looks great!! I love the way they put it together - the coffee table, magazine-style album. I guess that I'm used to seeing all the pics in it since we've been looking at those pics for a couple months now, but it still looks great. We're very happy with both our DVD and photos, so now with this last piece of wedding memorabilia, we can move on from this chapter in our lives. (Or maybe not... :) since I watch our DVD a lot still)

Go Giants!
The Giants are in fourth place (out of 5 in their division) but I'm still cheering them on!!! We're winning right now, and I think we can definitely catch up by the end of the season :) Alan and I are going to the game on Friday for our 6 month anniversary. I got some awesome seats that are still a surprise for Alan! All I told him was to bring his glove 'cuz you never know what we might catch. And I can carefully watch the second baseman to get some tips on how to play for my next season of softball :)

Shopping off Registries
Seems like we have something to do every weekend from now til the end of September! Crazy huh? But it's nice to get invitations in the mail, and I love shopping off of registries! I've been to Babies R Us a couple times this past month, as well as Crate & Barrel and Macy's. For some reason, I love finding the items on the registry, looking for them on the floor, and matching up their UPC codes! What a life I lead :)

Happy Birthday America!
We're watching fireworks on TV since we decided not to go out tonight. Instead we're having fun doing laundry! It was a packed weekend and we haven't been home all weekend! I love hearing patriotic music... makes me feel proud to be an American ;) Makes me want to get up and start marching and waving a flag or something.

Aaron's baptism
Saturday was our nephew's baptism and I was one of the godmothers. Aaron was so cute in his little white outfit... he was really good during the ceremony, but the other baby was crying like crazy. Aaron actually liked it when the priest poured the water on his forehead. Check out Alan's blog for pics.

Batman Begins
We went to see this movie today with my sisters at Century 20 in Daly City. I thought it was a good movie because even though it was 2+ hours, it didn't seem like it. But apparently, Alan didn't think it was all that. We saw Bev & Gary outside afterwards with their parents! Check Gary's Moblog for the instant pic!
