Whew!
My talk went pretty well... I don't think I sounded as nervous as I felt, and I actually answered a lot of questions from the audience. I'm glad it's over... but do you ever get the feeling that you want to present more, once it's over? It's like - you love being in front of everyone once you're done? I used to feel that way after PCN's.

The Mountain moves to Sunday nights!
I was looking forward to watching The Mountain last night after Smallvile, only to realize that it got moved to Sunday while Jack & Bobby moved to Wednesdays. The Mountain is a pretty good show - Oliver Hudson is hot, and his on-screen brother is that guy who was in Britney's movie! I thought that was pretty funny... (Maybe it'll try to compete with Desperate Housewives which I haven't watched. But once Alias comes back, I wonder what'll happen to Sunday nights.)

Speaking of Smallville
Surprise, surprise... more of Clark without his shirt on. But I'm not complaining :) He might as well just go shirtless that whole season :) BTW, I like Jason... anyone watch him when he was Eric on Days of Our Lives?
Nerve-wracking
I'm giving a seminar today at 11am and I'm nervous. My hands are clammy and cold and my heart feels like it's going to burst out of my body. I can never get used to presenting in front of a group... it takes me back to when I had to present at grad school and then the oral exam! At least today people won't be testing me about anything... I'm just supposed to tell them what I've been up to. Still though, a little nerve-wracking. Wish me luck! I'll let you know how it goes.

Honeymooners
I finally booked our honeymoon today! I won't tell where, just in case it's a shower question or something... but it feels good to know we're going somewhere nice and relaxing. Now I just have to find some flights.

Last wedding before our's
Alan and I went to our last wedding of the year, and the last wedding before our's next January! They had some really creative ideas during the ceremony / reception which I may have to steal borrow. :)

Almost ready for invitations
We're almost ready to send out our invitations, and it's been pretty fun for me getting them ready, addressing the envelopes, and figuring out the final guestlist! I love doing this stuff... maybe I'll become a wedding planner on the side.

Ciao Bella
Friday night, we had a going-away dinner for one of my friends who is moving back to San Diego... it seems like most of my college friends are moving away from the bay. A little sad, but it's fun when we finally all get together again.

Beach Blanket Babylon
We finally went to see the show on Friday night and it was great! I like how they incorporate present-day events in the scenes/songs. Cool costumes, especially the huge hats. Definitely a San Francisco must-see!

Taking it back to the old school
We went mini-golfing at Malibu Grand Prix on Saturday for one of our friend's birthday. I hadn't been there in a long time, but it was actually pretty fun. We played one round and then played some games like basketball and skeeball inside. Afterwards we went to Amici's pizza in Redwood Shores (if you go there, definitely try to the White Clam pizza... it's sooo good!)

"Suddenly I Want More!"
That's the slogan that was written on the drinks we got at Tapioca Express, and actually, it was true! A couple of us went bowling at Classic after dinner and checked out the new Tapioca Express store across the street (my new favorite store near my house). After I finished my Thai Tea w/ boba drink, I actually wanted more! :) The chicken pieces were really good too.

Then went to my house for some late-night karaoke :) It was fun just hanging out with friends, picking things to do last minute!

Finally!
We finally ordered our invitations and hopefully we'll be able to send them out by the first week of November at the latest! :) Things are rolling along nicely.

Beverly's
Went to Beverly's Crafts store in Alameda today to look for ribbon and started thinking about Bev. I wonder how the honeymooners are doing so far.

Rain?
Forecast calls for showers on Sunday through Tuesday. Should be good for my car. I guess I shouldn't wash it then, huh?

Short but sweet
Not much to say here... just chugging along, day by day. :) Going to Jane's going-away dinner tonight and also seeing Beach Blanket Babylon. Then going mini-golfing tomorrow for a friend's birthday! Should be a fun, relaxing weekend.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cruz!!
Congrats to my friends Bev and Gary, who just got married on Saturday!! It was a very beautiful wedding! And of course, I cried during the ceremony.

The reception was really fun! The food was great and the entertainment was fun! I love the part where both of them did a Filipino dance together. So cute and cheesy :) The slideshow was really cool too, especially the parts where little baby Bev was singing 'You Are My Sunshine', and the pics that I was in with her :) But should I call her 'Bevery' now?? (jk Gary) The part that was really cool was that everyone rushed the dancefloor when the dancing started! There were so many people out there, and it was really fun! I hope everyone dances at our wedding too!

Bed & Bath Shower
My family threw us our first wedding shower, with a 'Bed & Bath' theme! It was fun seeing all my relatives again, and playing all the games that my sisters and cousins planned.

We played 'How Well Do you Know The Bride & Groom?' where everyone got a piece of paper with either a True or False statement about us. If they got it wrong, we would have to put a piece of Bubblicious gum and chew. If not, they would eat a Hershey's Kiss. Needless to say, most people got it wrong - just to see us chew more and more gum. :)

We also played a game where we had to guess what Bed/Bath item was in each of 20 socks. My bridesmaid Tanya got ALL 20 correct! WOW!

Then we played a game where I was blindfolded (one at a time) and I had to guess which one out of 5 people was the one who kissed me on the cheek. I guess right, but Alan guessed wrong. But I made it hard for him but just brushing his cheek really lightly... You'll never guess who he picked!

Played the Newlywed game with four other married couples, and we lost. Abby & Mike won... They got most of the questions exactly right!

Then we had cake, ice cream, and opened gifts. We had a great time! Here are some pics :) The towel cake decoration that my mom made was so cute! Thanks to my family for hosting the party! And to my cousins for planning the fun games!

Happy Birthday to my mom!!
Happy Birthday Ma!! Thanks for always having dinner ready for me when I get home! ;) And for getting all my wedding stuff in the Philippines!

I love pictures!
Alan and I got our engagement photos on Monday and they look great! There are a whole bunch that we can use for our wedding stuff, and I'm really happy with them! And our photographer has been so easy to work with, not one of those people who you call and won't get back to you for a long long time. I'd gladly refer them to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

I noticed that the ones I like the most are the ones where we're not looking at the camera. The candid ones that capture the moments. I put one of my favorite ones in my blog profile. There's another one on our weddingchannel site too.

We definitely need to get a new camera... we haven't been taking pics recently! What happened to all the pics on alanabar.com??

BART
I took BART this morning (and then AC Transit bus) to work. Since I have class in the city and I was really late last week trying to look for parking downtown. Today, I'll just have to get off at Embarcadero and walk up to my class! Yay :) I actually liked taking BART... I got to catch up on some reading. Maybe I'll do it twice a week now.

Come Away With Me...
Alan and I went to the Norah Jones concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley on Friday night. I got free tickets from the Alice rewards program, and our seats were actually pretty good!

She's great in concert - sounds exactly like the CD. And she's awesome at the piano!

The tickets said the concert was at 8pm, but Alan and I spend about 30 minutes trying to find parking, on top of being late already. We went inside at around 9:10pm, but she hadn't even started yet! I guess it pays to be late?

Bridal Shower/Bachelorette
Went to Ms. Luzon's bridal shower tea party and bachelorette party on Saturday! Yummy food and tea, fun games and finally got to see video of her singing/dancing at performances!

For dinner, we headed to this place that I only remember as a small Japanese restaurant near my house. Now, it's totally different - bigger, served Filipino food, and then there was a Filipino comedy show after dinner! It was really funny, even though I probably only understood half of the jokes, since they were speaking in Tagalog the whole time! I think the bachelorette had lots of fun, diba Bev? ;) No details here... it stays between the girls :)

Engagement pics!
I called our photographer today and they said our engagement photos are ready! Not the actual prints, just the CD of the files... which is fine with us! We're gonna get them tonight and look over them to see if we can use some of them!

Pretty in pink
I felt girly today so I changed my template to a pretty pink. :) And it's my blog's one year anniversary today! I started this one last year and called it 'Orange October'!

Speaking of Orange...
Go Giants!! It's such a great pennant/wild card race! BEAT LA! BEAT LA! We need to win these last 3 games to make the playoffs!

Felicity
I rented Season 3 of Felicity from Netflix and I've already watched the first 7 episodes over the past two days. It's just so addicting. When Ben & Felicity broke up, I felt so bad that I had to watch the next episode to see what happened, even though it was already midnight!

I'm so bad though, I went online and read all the summaries for the rest of the season, and even the fourth (and last) season! I feel better knowing what happens in the end, and now I can just enjoy the episodes without worrying about what's going to happen next. I know... takes the fun out of it, but I couldn't wait!

October?!?!
It's already October 1st! Exactly 100 days from our wedding date! The countdown begins...
