Shower at work
Last Friday, my boss threw me a baby shower! It was really nice of her. I got a cake, ballons (both "It's a Boy!" and "It's a Girl!" hehe), flowers, a card signed by many people, and very very generous gift cards to Babies R Us and Target. I was surprised to see that so many people that I hardly work with, but just see around the office, contributed. It was fun!

Birthday party with inflatable WATER slide!
Saturday we went to a 3rd birthday party in Vallejo and they rented an inflatable slide... but not just a regular slide - a waterslide! And they had 2 small pools for the kids (and not-so-young kids - adults!) to play in. Looked like fun - too bad I couldn't go on it :)

Gilroy Sunday
Spent the whole day in Gilroy on Sunday. First, we went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. We got there around 11:30am just in time for lunch. Garlic everything - fries, calamari, pesto pasta, corn on the cob, mushrooms, and even ice cream! The ice cream was pretty good - at first taste, it tasted like vanilla, but it had a garlic aftertaste! Oh, and a really yummy strawberry lemonade slushie drink (no garlic.) There were a lot of booths and a big play area for kids - with small rides, jumpers, and a Home Depot station where Aaron built a car!

Afterwards, we hit the outlets of course! I think Alan bought more than I did though... I went into the Coach outlet and was almost going to buy a purse that was really cute, but decided against it. :) Yay for my self-control.

Needless to say, my feet hurt on Sunday night! Lots of walking around and it was hot! I was very very happy to come home :)

Last few days at work!
This is my last week at work! I'm excited to stay home and prepare for Baby's arrival!

Shower weekend
Whew, what a busy weekend! We had two showers on both days - our friends one on Saturday and a family one on Sunday. Our sisters planned both (thanks sisters!) and some of my friends helped out on Saturday too, with the decorations and food. The theme was "Sweet Pea in a Pod" - perfect since the colors were green and yellow! I think that was the most people we fit in our house on Saturday - I think we counted 97! Sunday was a bit smaller, but still big - around 60! Baby Abar sure is going to be loved by all these people.

We played some awesome games like Guess my Girth, Baby Trivia, Baby Food Eating race, Diaper changing race, Match our answers, and also had diaper raffles, creative baby names contest, the 'Can't say 'Baby' game' with cute little pea pod pins, the Price is Right (on baby items), and probably more that I forgot. So thanks to everyone who planned the games and got the prizes!

Pics to be posted soon.

I think we're all set with all the gifts we got. Everyone was so generous! Thanks everyone! Now all we need to do is put everything where it belongs, wash some of Baby's clothes, and we're all set.

Gotta be prepared
My co-worker who was due 4 weeks from now - 2 weeks before me -(and who was at the shower on Saturday) had her baby early Monday morning! Way early! Wow. Got me thinking that I should probably pack a bag and get ready, just in case. There's lots of things that I want to do during my 4 weeks off before my due date, but you never know what's going to happen, right??

Date Night
Forgot to blog about this! Last Friday Alan surprised me with Date Night! We went out to dinner and saw a movie! Went to one of my favorite restaurants Texas Roadhouse and the wait wasn't too bad. Plus while waiting we got to eat peanuts and throw the shells on the ground! :) Then we walked over to the theaters and saw Transformers. It was a good movie, although it was a bit loud for me and Baby at some points, and I did fall asleep for like 15 minutes in the middle. But overall, it was pretty good.

Gifts in the mail
It's always a nice surprise to get gifts in the mail! I've gotten two gift cards already and 4 packages from stuff off my registries. I knew that 2 of them were coming but the other 2 were surprises! Looks like we're filling up the Baby room pretty quickly :)

Labor and Delivery tour
We toured the hospital's Labor & Delivery floor during our Childbirth class on Tuesday night. We got to see what the inside of one of the birthing rooms looks like so we're familiar with the setup. Hopefully I get one on the outside with a window so that the sun can shine through!

First baby shower...kind of
Alan and I went to Babies R Us on Saturday since they were having a Baby Shower Event! We got there and they had finger foods, punch, and even a cake! We sat down and watched a video on the Playtex breast pump and then the lady showed us all these different Playtex products. We played some games - I won the "Name as many words related to breastfeeding as you can" game and won a sippy cup. We decorated bottles, and even got gift bags with goodies in them. All-in-all, we got lots of freebies - including 4 bottles, a car sunshade, a sippy cup, 2 small diaper bags, and tons of coupons and free samples. It was fun! And we saw some people from our Kaiser Childbirth classes there too :)

The movie in my mind...
Saturday night, we watched Charlene in Miss Saigon at the Smith Center at Ohlone College. It was so awesome to see her play the lead part of Kim on stage! She was really good!! It was fun seeing someone I knew on stage singing all the songs I knew. Alan kept singing "The movie in my mind..." on the way home. That's the only line he remembered!

Baby Room painted!
We cleared out the baby room and Alan painted it on Sunday! Good job Alan! We're waiting for it to dry to put the border that matches our theme: Barnyard Animals! It's so cute! :)

Master of the Stairs - Stair Master
I keep forgetting to bring my badge out when I go to use the bathroom and I end up getting locked out, so I have to go upstairs and back down the other set of stairs that doesn't require a card key. I've already done it FOUR times today! I guess it's just extra exercise for me :)

Baby is head DOWN!
Had our regular appointment yesterday and the doctor felt the Baby and told me that Baby was already in the head-down position. I asked if it was possible for Baby to flip back around and she said probably not, so Baby's in the right position for birth. Yay!

Welcome back Blogger!
Welcome back to Kitchie, who started blogging again! And also welcome to the Louie Family, who started their blog! I love reading people's blogs! :)

The crazy family
Just thinking how much I love my crazy family. Times are fun, especially when we're all together since we all live in different places :)

Losing my mind!
I feel like I've been losing everything. We went swimming on Wednesday with Aaron and I thought I lost my sunglasses at the pool. I remember wearing them there but when I got home they weren't in my bag. I even drove back to the pool but didn't find them, so Alan said someone probably took them. :( So I gave up on them and actually already started looking for new ones at the stores yesterday. Good thing I didn't buy any, because Alan just called me and said that Mike found them in their car! Whoo hoo! One of my biggest annoyances is driving without sunglasses. I hate squinting when it's really really sunny.

Oh, and yesterday I know I had my library book at work (A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, who wrote The Kite Runner) and usually I take it home. But when I got home, I couldn't find it! It wasn't in my car either. :( So I thought I had to go to the library and tell them I lost it and pay for it, but I checked the bathroom at work this morning and it was still there! I must've left it there right before I left work. Phew!

I'm getting very very forgetful. Don't they call it 'pregnancy brain'?

One-day weekend mid-week!
It was kinda cool having a holiday in the middle of the week. It seemed like a really long (and really HOT) day on Wednesday. Didn't do much besides go swimming and hang out by the pool, and then came back to our house for some good grub. We had boca burgers (my first one - it really did taste like real meat!) and Alan made some BBQ ribs. Yum.

Heatwave!
Oh my gosh - it's been sooo hot recently. Wednesday night I could barely sleep - it was so hot. I can barely sleep in the first place, since I get up often at night to use the bathroom, but I couldn't get back to sleep! Last night we left the windows open and there was a breeze so it was a little bit better. I love summer, but I'm definitely feeling the heat more now.

32 weeks!
Can't believe there's only 8 weeks to go, and only 4 more weeks at work! Whoo hoo! Baby's definitely getting heavier and I'm starting to waddle when I walk. What shall I do during my leave? Anyone want to hang out?? =)

SURPRISE x 2!
Friday we had a surprise baby shower for one of my coworkers. She's due two weeks before me but her boss is going to be out of town this month so she decided to throw one early. She was really surprised when she walked into the lunchroom and she turned bright red! :) I usually go on walks with her in the afternoon, and she already has a 1-year-old, so it's cool to talk to her about pregnancy and baby stuff.

Then Friday night we went over to the Corpujillo's :) house in San Ramon and had a suprirse birthday party for our friend Stacy. We all hid in the office behind the front door and so when she walked in and we yelled out "SURPRISE!", she was really shocked. She looked so confused and she didn't know what the surprise was for! It was classic. :)

Lazy Saturday
Staying in my pajamas all day yesterday and did absolutely nothing! Well, we watched Freedom Writers with Hillary Swank and Dr. McDreamy, which was pretty good. Then as Alan was fixing up the garage, putting together the cabinets we bought, I went upstairs and finally taped up the baby room, getting it ready for painting! It's already July and we're running out of time before Baby comes!

Hukilau
Had dinner at Hukilau Cafe in SF for a friend's birthday dinner last night. Yummy Hawaiian food - kalua pig w/cabbage, teriyaki chicken, short ribs, macaroni salad, green salad, rice, and punch! So much food - I was stuffed!

Concert for Diana
We're watching the Concert for Diana on VH1 right now and it's a pretty good concert. Hopefully it reruns since it's 6 hours long and we have to go to church!
