Lost my cash at the Creek
Saturday we went to a family get-together in Vallejo with Alan's parents and then decided to go up to Cache Creek since we were in the 'area'. :)

Started off putting a $20 into a slot machine which pretty much was gone in about 2 minutes. I should never EVER begin with slots. Walked around a couple times and ended up at a $5 blackjack table. The first few hands the dealer kept winning, and I started to think that I ruined the table by joining. But eventually he busted and we started winning. I love $5 tables, but the head guy in the middle came over and told us that after this deck it would change to $10. So of course, I left after the deck was done. I think I walked away even.

Then headed over to craps where I thought it was $5 minimum but found out it was $10. Not bad, but I didn't usually bet what I always bet (on 6 and 8 all the time) since I was low on funds. Craps is funny - it's a roller coaster ride - first I was up then down then up. Unfortunately ended the run down, but didn't walk away empty-handed since the last shooter hit the point and I took what was left of my money and left. So for a couple of hours of fun, I guess it wasn't too bad.

As we were leaving, Alan told me that some girl won the progressive jackpot playing the Wheel of Fortune slots. $190,000! Why can't I win like that? :)

5K Run and Book Club
Sunday, Alan and I did the 5K run in SF for MMRF. My company sponsored a team so we decided to run. We need to train for the mud run in June! It was a nice run near the Golden Gate Bridge (started in Crissy Field), but it started to rain lightly towards the end of the run. Plus I had to hold my sweatshirt and t-shirt that I got, which I think slowed me down... (haha. I guess that's my excuse.) But it felt good to get up so early and exercise.

Afterwards, had lunch (Goldilock's takeout) with my parents in Daly City, hung out for a bit, then headed home to drop Alan off and head over to Shirley's nice new place in San Jose near Santana Row for book club lunch. It's always a great time to get together with the girls and talk about random things (mostly non-book related!) We all did this baby prediction thing with a necklace and a ring and it turns out that it says I'm going to have 4 kids! haha We'll see if it's true.

Where did the sun go?
I want the sun to come back! It's almost May!

I'm baaaaack!
Although I didn't really go anywhere, I've just been really lazy to blog. Hopefully since the weather is better now, I'll get back in the mood of blogging on a more regular basis ;)

My life for the past 2 months
Ok, so since the last time I blogged, here's what I've done:
  • Went to a wedding at the Mission Santa Clara and reception at the Decathlon club

  • Went to 3 concerts! Train at the Fillmore, Michael Buble at the Berkeley Community Theater, and James Blunt at the Warfield. All GREAT SHOWS! I think I would have to say that Michael Buble was my favorite.

  • Celebrated my cousin's 21st birthday at the new Elephant Bar in Serramonte

  • Book club night at Stacy's pad in Dublin. Finally got to see their cool place!

  • Celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday and Easter with the family. The first at Banana Island and the second at Elephant Bar again

  • Went to 5, yes count them, FIVE baby showers! But no pressure, right? :)

  • Kitchie's girls' night out! We tried to go to Texas Roadhouse, but the wait was 4 hours long! So we went to Chevy's instead and then went back to our house to play games and pose like models. :)

  • Celebrated Bev's birthday at Fenton's in Oakland. I love me some 'Fudgeanna' without the fudge. (caramel instead)

  • Celebrated Dale's birthday, sake bombing and eating great sushi at Midori's in Sunnyvale

  • Visited my cute baby niece Alyssa and cute nephew Austin(kids of my 1st cousins), while Alan took tons of pics of them

And the number one thing I've been doing a lot lately...
Volleyball! Been playing at least once, sometimes twice a week after work, for almost 3 hours each time.

Our company team 'won' the division title and in the off-season, I've been playing at open gyms in Berkeley and Piedmont, getting good exercise and practicing for next season, starting in May. It's a great workout, but I know I'm getting older because I wake up the next day with aches and pains. :)
