Sleepy afternoon
Gosh, I'm so sleepy right now. Had lunch with coworkers (the 'Friday lunch crew') at Sushi House (yum!) and had the Island roll, Philly roll, and miso soup. Sushi overload! And I still have leftovers. It's so nice outside that I really want to just take a nap, except that I'm at work....

Volleyball mania
I know I keep talking about playing volleyball, but I love it! We played in a 4-man grass tournament in Golden Gate Park on Saturday. Even though we didn't do TOO well, it was pretty good for our first time playing 4-man on grass. We kicked butt last night (3 games to none) and went out afterwards to Buffalo Bill's Brewery in downtown Hayward to celebrate. And plus one of our teammates is moving to Missouri... Our Thursday team has a game tonight, so I get to play some more!

My Friday!
Today is my Friday. I'm taking tomorrow off to help K & J for the big day on Saturday!!! I'm excited for the wedding! Lots of events this weekend! Have a good looong weekend!

Gosh I love Grey's Anatomy!
It's such a gooood show! And the season finale was so good, I couldn't breathe at some parts :) Anyone else a fan???? I definitely want to get the DVDs and Season 2 DVDs come out in September! Should I pre-order on amazon?

Man, I'm getting dark!
I better stay out of the sun before Kitchie's wedding. I don't want to have weird tan lines, especially since the bridesmaid's dress is strapless. I've been out a lot lately, walking during the day with a co-worker, eating lunch outside near the fountain, at a neighbor's son's birthday party next door (where they had 2 ponies and a huge jumper!) and just out and about enjoying the sun. (Oh, and I went to San Diego for a day to see Heidi's PCC, visited the Mission San Diego and walked around Seaport Village too...)

I think I better put on sunscreen every morning though.

All BEP'd out
We went to the Black Eyed Peas concert last Friday with some SCU friends and I have to say that I'm definitely BEP'd out. I think I've seen them 3 times now and most of their stuff is the same. Something new was their opening act - the Pussycat Dolls - or as I see them: one lead singer and 5 backup dancers. It seriously was like a strip show. I'm sure the guys enjoyed it.

After the concert we called up Rex (an Oakland native) and went to Merritt Bakery for some chicken and waffles and dessert! Boy was it good! How come I've never been there before?

Lots of events coming up
Including Kitchie's wedding! GRAB Night, another wedding celebration, a volleyball tournament, the Bay to Breakers, a Giants game, and the Mud Run in June! I love summertime!

Why...
do people flush the toilet BEFORE they go? I've been in the bathroom many times and have heard people do this. I think it's a waste of water.

Come back!
Where's the sun? I hope it comes back soon because I liked wearing skirts and capris and sandals to work.

Bees
Been seeing and hearing about bees a lot recently. Watched Bee Season the movie with Richard Gere, just read The Secret Life of Bees which was a long-overdue book club read, heard on the news that bees are the animal that kills the most humans (although some people refute that the allergic reaction to bees is what kills them or that bees aren't animals - they're insects), just read that the National Spelling Bee is going to broadcast on a major network channel this year. Bees, bees, bees. Oh! And they're making a movie with that little girl Dakota Fanning for The Secret Life of Bees, which I will totally watch b/c I liked the book and I love her acting. Bees everywhere. Fun Fact: did you know that I won our school spelling bee in 7th grade, only to be eliminated in the SF County Spelling Bee by the word E-F-F-I-C-I-E-N-C-Y?

P.S. Oh yeah! And the new musical called The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is playing at the Post Street theater in San Francisco and I want to go see it!

The sun's back!
What a great way to start the month of May! Beautiful weather :) I love wearing capris, short-sleeved shirts and sandals to work. It's so much more comfy and I feel so much more girly! I went outside for lunch today to eat and read my book and just sit out in the sun. I came back inside after half an hour and I swear my arms got darker already. I should probably put on sunscreen in the morning if I do this everyday.

Jam-packed weekend
Started off the weekend buying all the food and stuff for Kitchie & Jerry's wedding showers! Yes, two showers in one day! The first was a brunch with family, and then dinner with friends. We decorated and my mom cooked so much food! The showers were a success - here's a list of games that we played:
  • What's That White Stuff? I put different kitchen ingredients in white ziploc baggies and they had to guess what was inside (flour, sugar, salt, powdered sugar, white cake mix, baking powder, baking soda, tempura batter mix, mashed potatoes mix, Bisquick)
  • How Well Do You Know the Bride & Groom? Lots of questions about K & J. Did you know they own 5 TVs!?
  • Newlywed (or Not-So-Newlywed) Game: We played with 7 couples at the first shower and 6 at the second. It's so funny to see couples interacting, especially when they get the question wrong :) The winners at the family shower have been married for 37 years! No wonder they won!
  • Shower Gift Bingo: bingo cards with different gifts. Mike got BINGO first!
  • Let's SPICE Up the Party: We had 15 bottles of different spices and people had to guess what they were. The spices were making some people sneeze!
  • Famous Fictional Couples: Do you know what TV show/movie "Fitzwilliam & Elizabeth" or "Henry & Lucy" are from??
  • Clothespin game: Guests couldn't say "Kitchie", "Jerry", or "Wedding"! It's always funny when you catch yourself saying one of them and think no one heard it, but someone always does!
It was a long day - starting from 6am til 2am, but we had lots of fun with the bride and groom!

Baker Beach
Sunday morning we got up bright and early! Alan took some engagement shots of Kitchie & Jerry at the Japanese Tea Garden in SF and then we followed by meeting them at Baker Beach! It was a gorgeous day and it was nice to sit on the beach and read! (I finally finished the book In Cold Blood that I started last month. Coincidentally, it's this month's book club read!) There were so many people at the beach since it was such a nice day. They had a great shot of the Golden Gate Bridge in the back! When we took our's there, the bridge was hidden behind the fog :(

My family, the jetsetters
Seems like we're always at the airport, dropping someone off or picking someone up. Dropped off my dad at SFO, then K & J, then Heidi at OAK this morning. I'm going to San Diego this weekend for Heidi's PCC, so I'm getting on a plane too :) But I think that it's definitely better than driving!
