See ya later Data!
My Palm ran out of battery over Thanksgiving weekend, and even after I tried to charge it on the cradle, it wouldn't turn on. So I went online and read that you can try to do a soft reset and the data won't be erased. So I unfolded my paper clip and pushed the reset button on the back. It finally turned back on, but all the data was lost!!! :( WAAAAAAH!!! There were only two important things I used it for though - addresses and all my logins/passwords for most of my online accounts!!! Boooo. I guess I'll just have to start collecting things again.

Hair/Makeup Trial
Sunday I had a wedding hair/makeup trial with this guy that my mom and aunt recommended. Apparently they said he used to do hair/makeup for actors/actresses in the Philippines. He was pretty good and I was happy with what he did. I brought in a pic from the magazine and my hair looked almost exactly like it! So I booked him. I felt bad though, cuz he said he was going to the Philippines from the 26th for a wedding and was planning on staying until the 12th. But if I wanted to book him, he would come back earlier. I just hope he can get an earlier flight back.

Limo search
I think I found a limo company that gave a reasonable quote for the size and time frame that we want! Yay!

Stuffed
Thanksgiving was great! We had lunch at Alan's family's house - where we had lots of good food, like honey baked ham, palabok, pinakbet, fish, soup, fruit salad and brownies and played Mafia around the table with Alan's family. Abby was the Killer both times!! But we caught her both times too.

Then we went over to my family's house for dinner for more food: honey baked ham, turkey, honey glazed shrimp, spare ribs, pinakbet, sesame chicken, cassava, and ube. And we had fun playing cuajo, singing on the magic mic (karaoke), and dancing around :) Even my Lolo got up and started dancing too.

What a great time to be around family :)

Biggest Shopping Day of the Year
Fortunately, I was good and didn't buy anything, except the big frames we need for our wedding. No shopping for me! Instead, my whole family went to see Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason. It was the second time for my mom and me, but the first for H, K, and my dad. We all agreed that the first one was better, so we went home to watch it on DVD :)

Bridal shower
Kitchie & Heidi planned an all-girls bridal shower for me on Saturday. Even though there were only a few guests, we had a lot of fun! All my favorite finger foods like crab/cream cheese wontons, bbq chicken wings, meatballs w/ gourmet sauce, chips and seafood dip, chicken & apple lil smokies, lasagna, and my favorite dessert - Sansrival from Goldilock's!

Then we played games like 25 Words or Less, Purse Scavenger Hunt, How Well do you Know the Bride & Groom (and how well does the bride know the groom), and Bride Karaoke... Let's just say that bride karaoke isn't much fun when you're the bride and you have to sing all the songs or get up and dance :)

Thanks to the exclusive few who came!! And for the great gifts ;) And next time, we'll put detailed directions! Every single one of you got lost! hehehe.

Here's a pic

WWW
No, not world wide web. Alan and I had a major Wedding Workshop Weekend this past weekend. We got a LOT of things done for our wedding - including finally getting things together for our CD, ordering our enlargements and frames/matting for people to sign during the reception, working on both our Mass and Reception programs, and thinking about nameplates. And I finally got a drawing of the table setup of the room, so I can start working on the seating arrangements. It's good we're doing all of this early, before all the holiday events!

Macy's Friends & Family
Alan and I went shopping both on Saturday and Sunday and at Macy's there were two salespeople who were nice enough to give us the Friends & Family discount! The first was at the men's clothing dept, and the second one was at the housewares dept (and she actually gave me the card there, so I went back on Monday to use it some more!) We got some good stuff - Alan got some new clothes, and we got some kitchen stuff and towels! I love holidays sales! There was already some long lines there, so I bet there will be tons more on Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year...

Happy Turkey Day!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families! Have a great long weekend :)

One year at my job
Yesterday was my one-year anniversary at my job. It went pretty quick, but I think I've learned a lot and feel comfortable at what I'm doing...

Showered with love
Saturday Alan's family threw us a wedding shower at their house in Union City. Thanks to everyone who came... there were so many people in the house! We had lots of good food, played some fun games, and opened up some cool gifts for our new kitchen! Can't wait to put them all to use!

Holidays are approaching
It's almost Thanksgiving... then Christmas... then our wedding! Where did all the time go this past year? I can't wait for all the holiday sales, even though I probably shouldn't be shopping too much this season. Gotta save for our wedding, honeymoon, and new home!

Shirtless in Smallville
Ok, how many episodes in a row can Clark be without his shirt??? I wonder if the writers actually plan this, to get better ratings, since the show is competing the Lost now. This week's episode made me laugh though - seeing Clark try to dance was funny...

Care packages
I've sent four care packages to the troops in the Middle East through that website I was talking about in my previous post. For some reason, I had a strong urge to send something - I think it was reading the soldier's 'blogs' and reading about what they're going through and the little things they miss from home. It's pretty interesting. You should do it too - you'll feel good that you can brighten someone's day.

Guilty
After lunch everyone at work was talking about the guilty verdict. I guess it's because it's somewhat local around here. And it's a pretty high profile case where a lot of people thought the defense just might get him off ...

Happy weekend!
Let's hope for sun this weekend :)

Support our troops
I heard about this website on Alice radio and I checked it out. It's a good way to find an address to directly send care packages to our troops. I'm putting one together as we speak - some of the soldiers ask for basic things that we all probably take for granted. Go here, pick a soldier, and send something... even just handwritten letters boost their morale. http://www.anysoldier.com.
The holidays are coming up and I'm sure it's getting hard for them...

First business trip
Alan's away on his very first business trip to Denver. I had to bring him to SFO this morning at 5am since his flight was at 6:30am. Even though I don't see him everyday, I miss him anyway... just knowing that he's a lot farther than usual (in a different time zone!) But I hope you're having fun! I like travelling too!

Too bad
That's all I have to say about that. Kerry's concession speech was sad - I watched it live online this morning.

Getting dark early
It's only 4:30 and it's already dark outside (and raining)... Winter is back. But I kinda like the cold, crisp weather - it reminds me of my days in New York. Time to bring out the gloves and scarves again!

Trick or Treat!
Had a good Halloween weekend. We went to a costume party at our friends' house in San Jose on Saturday. Our costume was really really last minute and it came out of our closets since I didn't want to buy a costume. I guess you'll just have to wait until I post pics to see what we were.

Saw some very cute costumes - Dorothy and the Scarecrow and Lion, the Asian Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, King/Queen of Hearts, "Sick" & "Tired", the Statue of Liberty, a Las Vegas tourist, Sargeant Sexy, among others. Played lots of 'Karaoke Revolution' on the big screen - which actually scores you based on your tone of singing and not just if you're singing on the beat. So if you're tone deaf, you're outta luck.

Sunday I passed out candy in the Daly City house, although only two groups of trick-or-treaters came... so I gave them lots of candy. Not too many kids trick-or-treat around my neighborhood anymore.

One more hour!
We got home at around 3am after the party, and woke up at around 10am... thinking it was already 10am. I called my mom and she reminded us that it was only 9am! I love that extra hour! So we cleaned up the house and finally finished painting the downstairs room (which had been left half-done since at least a month ago) and put up the blinds. We're starting to decorate the house more, which is exciting.

Tetanus shot
Went to the doctor's this morning for my yearly checkup and she said that I needed a tetanus shot (which apparently you should get every 10 years as an adult). Now my left arm is totally sore, but at least I know I should be ok if I ever step on a nail or anything like that... :)

Speaking of healthcare
Open enrollment for our health benefits started and I have to choose my benefits for next year. Dilemma: Should I stick with the health plan I have now (and which my favorite doctor is a part of) or should I switch to Kaiser, which is $5 less in biweekly payments and really close to my new house in Hayward?

Rock the Vote
Don't forget to vote tomorrow!!! Polls open at 7am. Every vote counts!
